My Freezer Isn’t Running
If your freezer isn’t running, then it could be a sign of a larger problem. Make sure your freezer is connected to a power source. If you notice there is no electrical issue then the issue might stem from an internal mechanism.
My Freezer Isn’t Cold Enough
Test your freezer to see it is sufficiently cold. Check the thermometer. If it is at or around 0°F, it is working properly. Check your temperature settings if it happens to be over 0°F.
Turn down your freezer’s internal thermostat and wait a couple of hours before retesting the temperature.
A common cause is automatic defrost function stop functioning. If your freezer does not have an automatic defrost function, then manually defrost your unit.
Defrosting your freezer usually takes 5-8 hours. Remove all food and place inside a cooler . Unplug the freezer from the wall and allow it to defrost.
Freezer is Too Warm
A warm freezer is a big issue. Your thermostat can be broken or cold air is escaping from the unit. A simple fix is checking if anything is preventing the freezer door from closing.
Food Gets Freezer Burnt
The issue is with the way your food is stored not your unit.If the food is dehydrated, then the water molecules evaporate into the freezer and get replaced with oxygen molecules. Freezer Bags stop this issue from occurring.
